What is pvc stabilizer?

PVC heat stabilizers are mainly used in PVC and other chlorine-containing polymers. In a broad sense, any additive that improves the thermal stability of a polymer is called a heat stabilizer. Due to the poor thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride, most of the world's PVC stabilizers are used for polyvinyl chloride. Therefore, the commonly used PVC stabilizer refers to a heat stabilizer of polyvinyl chloride and its copolymer. It has been found that PVC plastic can only be processed at temperatures above 160 °C, and it begins to thermally decompose at 120-130 °C, releasing hcl gas. If the hcl is not inhibited, the decomposition will be further aggravated. This problem was once plagued. The main problem in the development and application of PVC plastics.

It has been found that if PVC plastic contains a small amount of impurities such as lead salt, metal soap, phenol, aromatic amine, etc., it will not affect its processing and application, but also can delay the thermal decomposition of it to a certain extent. The above problems have been solved, which has led to the establishment and continuous development of the field of heat stabilizer research.
